Pearl Millet

A millet cultivar that is widely farmed is called Bajjra, Sajje, or Pearl Millet. Since ancient times, it has been grown on the African and Indian subcontinents. Due to its ability to thrive on sandy, nutrient-poor soils in low-rainfall places, it is commonly grown in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Haryana and is well recognised throughout the world as bird food.

It is a tall, upright plant that can reach heights of 6 to 15 feet. The plant develops a brownish flower with a thick panicle resembling a spike. It is well known that this millet has phytochemicals that decrease cholesterol. Along with folate, magnesium, copper, zinc, and vitamins E and B-complex, it also has folate. Compared to other flours, "Bajra" has a high energy level. Additionally, it contains a lot of healthy unsaturated fats and calcium.
